What is Trezor®?

Trezor® is a hardware wallet that keeps your private keys offline and protected. Developed by SatoshiLabs, Trezor helps you store, send, and receive cryptocurrency safely—far from internet threats. It supports thousands of coins and tokens including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many ERC-20 tokens.

With Trezor, you stay in control of your crypto. Your private keys never leave the device. That means no centralized platform, exchange, or hacker can touch your funds.

Step 1: Start at trezor.io/start

Begin setup by visiting the official site: https://trezor.io/start. This ensures you are protected from scams or fake apps. The site will guide you through downloading the Trezor Suite—your main tool for managing your crypto.

Step 2: Download and Install Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is a desktop and browser-based application that lets you manage your crypto wallet. It's available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

For the best security, always use the desktop version, especially when accessing sensitive features like firmware updates or seed recovery.

Step 3: Connect Your Trezor Device

Plug your Trezor into your computer using the USB cable. Open Trezor Suite, and it will detect your device. If prompted, install the latest firmware. This ensures your wallet has the most up-to-date security features.

Step 4: Create or Recover a Wallet

⚠️ Important: Never take a photo or store your seed online. Anyone with access to your seed phrase can take your crypto.

Step 5: Add a PIN and Passphrase

After creating your wallet, Trezor will prompt you to set a PIN. This protects your wallet from unauthorized physical access. You can also enable a passphrase—a custom word or sentence that adds a second layer of protection to your wallet.

Even if someone gets your recovery seed, they still need the passphrase (if enabled) to access your assets.

Step 6: Start Using Your Wallet

Once your setup is complete, you can begin managing your crypto with Trezor Suite:
